Objective

To provide an update of the techniques and clinical indications for imaging patients (plain film radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, ultrasonography) encountered in the emergency department and trauma setting, and for imaging musculoskeletal disorders likely to be encountered in the emergency setting. ¬Discuss fundamentals of interpretation of musculoskeletal imaging in the emergency department. Determine the need of Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (FAST) in trauma patient.

1.Understand the indications for radiographic interventional procedures and other specialized diagnostic procedures.

Skills

1.Demonstrate a clinically appropriate diagnostic treatment plan .
Demonstrate to recognize normal plain film anatomy.
Demonstrate ability to diagnose common conditions and life threatening conditions on chest radiographs, pneumoperitoneum on abdominal radiographs and spine fractures
Demonstrate the proper use of radiological equipment in emergency settings

Competence

1.The student will have the ability to accurately select the necessary radiological examinations. Demonstrate the ability to perform FAST and give a clinical report
