Objective

The course objective is to introduce students to the main theories and issues of philosophical ethics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of successful course completion, the student: knows what ethics is and how it is related to other disciplines; knows the basic concepts and methods of analyzing ethical argumentation; knows the central problems and proposed solutions in ethical theories.

Skills

1.As a result of successful course completion, the student: is able to distinguish an ethical question from other types of questions; is able to argue his or her position on ethical issues; is able to independently and critically evaluate ethical arguments; is able to independently and critically evaluate possible actions from the perspective of different ethical theories; is able to independently and critically recognize and evaluate ethical problem situations.

Competence

1.As a result of successful course completion, the student: has developed academic communication competence by participating in seminars; has developed critical self-reflection competence by reflecting on their position on various ethical issues.
