About Study Course
Objective
To provide improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the forensic pathology according to the requirements of Speciality of Forensic Medicine Experts to prepare the doctor for certification in the speciality of a forensic expert, according to the laws and regulations of Latvian Republic.
Learning outcomes
1.Systematize and describe forensic medical examinations and patho-anatomical autopsies.
1.To carry out the forensic medical examination and patho-anatomical autopsy of the corpse, to formulate an expert's opinion, to carry out an examination of the corpse at the scene of the incident, to draw up the documents of the expert's opinion in accordance with the criminal process and quality standards.
1.Competence acquired during studies to independently perform forensic medical examinations of corpses, ability to perform the activities intended for a forensic medical expert in criminal proceedings, civil proceedings or administrative proceedings, acquired prior knowledge and skills for performing scientific-research and pedagogical work, ability to continue further education and introduce innovations in one's work, learned medical and judicial an expert's code of ethics, the ability to communicate with specialists and the public, as well as to provide emergency medical assistance.
