Objective

To acquire knowledge about the infection process and the factors affecting the intensity thereof, incl. in children, about the nosological structure of infectious diseases, aetiology, diagnostic principles – definitions of infectious and parasitic diseases, pathogenesis, symptoms and clinical course.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.During the time allotted for the study course, the medical resident acquires knowledge about the process of infectious diseases and the factors affecting its intensity, about the nosological structure of infectious diseases.
Congenital infections and intestinal infections of viral and bacterial origin.
Definitions, aetiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and clinical course of infectious and parasitic diseases.

Skills

1.As a result of completing the study course, the medical resident will be able to conduct an objective examination of the patient, take the epidemiological anamnesis and the anamnesis of the disease, prescribe the necessary laboratory diagnostics to confirm the diagnosis.

Competence

1.As a result of completing the study course, the medical resident will have reached a level of knowledge that allows them to deal with the given problem independently or by consulting a specialist.
