About Study Course
Objective
To ensure acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in provision of emergency assistance in cases of acute intoxications within the scope necessary for an addiction specialist
Learning outcomes
1.• About the basic principles of intensive treatment for toxicology patients
• About the basics of infusion therapy
• About the toxic effect of psychoactive substances
• About diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the psychoactive substance intoxication conditions.
1.• Physiological optimisation of the clinical condition
• Prevention of organ dysfunction
• Stabilisation of the vital organ functions
• Ability to assess a degree of acute intoxication risk and seriousness
• Administration of medical preparations, recognition of toxic conditions
• To explain health disorders and possible assistance measures in a way understandable to the patient
• To represent that in the medical documentation in a proper way.
1.• To provide emergency assistance in case of acute intoxications
• To take emergency diagnostic and therapeutical measures for acute intoxications in addiction patients
• To organise consultations, further care in the specialised institutions
• To be aware of their own professional competence.
