About Study Course
Objective
To introduce students to the aetiology of the most common internal diseases, mechanisms of development, clinical symptoms, main complications and principles of primary prevention thereof.
Prerequisites
Normal anatomy, physiology and biochemistry in the course volumes provided in the programme of the Faculty of Public Health. In addition to the current course, students learn the basics of pharmacology, pathoanatomy and pathophysiology.
Learning outcomes
To demonstrate an understanding of the latest medical technologies, examination techniques and scientific trends. To take anamnesis, arrange it sequentially, recognise the possible risk factors of the disease.
To recognise the possible pathology taking into account the obtained examination data.
As a result of completing the study course, students acquire basic knowledge and key competences in patient examination, diagnosis of diseases, complications and prevention thereof.
Students will know basic and advanced methods of patient examination, how to diagnose diseases, analyse their causes, prevent possible complications and take preventive measures.
Evaluate the symptoms identified, relate them to pathological processes in the patient’s body.
To be able to analyse situations, substantiate, logically formulate and explain one’s opinion.
To communicate with people of different competences and with different experience on professional issues, achieving solutions that benefit their health, society or the environment.
