About Study Course
Objective
The goal of the program is to provide theoretical and practical studies and mastering accordingly to the requirements of the neonatology specialty regulation to prepare a doctor for certification in the specialty of neonatology in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia.
Learning outcomes
1.As a result of studies in a specialty of neonatology the person gains knowledge in theoretical aspects of physiology and pathology of foetus and newborn, therapy and care procedures.
1.As a result of studies in neonatology the person can evaluate newborns' health condition, risk factors and potential pathologies, diagnose pathologies, perform examination and ensure therapy and care.
1.The level of theoretical and practical knowledge is appropriate for taking an exam for obtaining a certificate in neonatology, and further practice as a specialist in neonatology.
