About Study Course
Objective
Resident rheumatologist acquire knowledge on diagnostics, examination possibilities and specifics of rheumatic, joint and autoimmune disorders at a pediatric rheumatology clinic within the framework of the study course “Paediatric Rheumatology” and acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in specialised diagnostics, differential diagnostics and treatment of paediatric rheumatic diseases to ensure continuity of care of paediatric rheumatic patients when growing up.
Learning outcomes
1.Demonstrates in-depth and expanded knowledge of the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases of the musculoskeletal system and autoimmune connective tissue system, which provides a basis for creative thinking in clinical practice and research, as well as the ability to interdisciplinary.
• Specifics of application of diagnostic testing in rheumatology, differential diagnostics and monitoring of disease dynamics in children.
• Introduction to and specifics of etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinic, diagnostics, differential diagnostics, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal system (connective tissue) and autoimmune disorders of connective tissue.
• Therapeutic and diagnostic medical technologies to be used in pediatric rheumatology, their usage specifics.
1.The doctor understands the nature of the specific problem, diagnostic algorithms and is able to provide professional specialized assistance, as well as practically implements diagnostic, treatment and prevention measures.
Is able to argue and discuss complex or systemic aspects of rheumatology with both specialists and non-specialists. Able to draw up the medical documentation to be used, make entries on an outpatient and inpatient medical card.
Able to independently direct the development and specialization of their competencies, take responsibility for work results and their analysis, conduct business, innovate in rheumatology, perform work, research or further learning in complex and unpredictable conditions and, if necessary, transform them using new approaches.
To undergo the purposeful examination of the musculoskeletal apparatus and joints.
Evaluate the findings and classify changes in musculoskeletal apparatus in children. To refer a patient for specific diagnostic imagining, instrumental and laboratory examinations to and assess the results, by ensuring detection and differential diagnostics of the major rheumatic, joint and autoimmune diseases.
1.The doctor works in accordance with his / her powers at the highest level of acquisition and use of knowledge, skills, attitudes, diagnosing, treating, rehabilitating, and preventing diseases of the musculoskeletal system and autoimmune connective tissue system, independently planning and organizing the improvement and development of professional competence, takes responsibility for the work of staff teams and is able to innovate and entrepreneurship. Make informed, verifiable and scientifically sound decisions regarding patient health, public health and the environment; justify and reflect decisions in medical records.
To use the acquired knowledge and skills for making the diagnosis, perform differential diagnosis, interpret examination data, develop a structural treatment and rehabilitation plan, define and explain treatment purposes logically, assess its efficiency and side effects.
