Objective

To train the medical residents of the specialty in dermatology, venereology in research methods for normal and pathological histology and for the skin, mucous membrane and skin derivative pathological histology of general and most frequent diseases.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Demonstrates the acquisition and development of in-depth understanding for the following topics:
1) Introduction. History of pathological histology. Research techniques of normal and pathological histology. The latest laboratory examination methods.
2) Pathology of epidermal cell kinetics and differentiation. Epidermal and dermo-epidermal ligament disorders. Pathology of the dermis and hair follicles.
3) Dystrophies. Mesenchymal disproteinoses. Disorders of lipid metabolism. Lipidoses. Carbohydrate dystrophy. Mucous dystrophy. Mucopolysaccharidoses. Mixed dystrophies.
4) Inflammation. Allergic inflammation. Eczematous skin reactions. Granulomatous inflammation.
5) Ectodermal dysplasia. Mesenchymal dysplasia and neuromesenchymal dysplasia.
6) Bullous dermatoses.
7) Erimato-squamous and papular dermatoses. Non-infectious pustular dermatoses.
8) Skin vascular pathologies.
9) Skin infections.
10) Systemic skin connective tissue diseases.
11) Skin atrophy.
12) Skin tumours.
Interprets the results of clinical and pathohistological examination results.

Skills

1.To prepare a specimen for pathohistological examination. Pathohistological examination of the skin, mucous membrane and skin derivative under a microscope and determination of pathology.

Competence

1.After obtaining the certificate to be competent in working as a dermatologist and venereologist, to apply the knowledge acquired during the study process, to recognize and differentiate the skin and sexually transmitted diseases from other pathologies.
