Objective

The objective of this course is to ensure the knowledge in pathology, including parts of general and special pathological physiology – pathogenesis of many pathological conditions and diseases. This course of pathological physiology will give a theoretical basis for further clinical subject studies, forming comprehensively educated specialists.

Prerequisites

Cell biology, anatomy, normal physiology and biochemistry, microbiology and genetics

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the course the students will know and will be able to explain the nature, development, causes, consequences and outcomes of various diseases and general pathological processes.

Skills

The students will be able to identify the most frequent pathologies and evaluate the mechanisms of pathogenesis in clinical tasks

Competence

The students, using the acquired knowledge, will be able to identify the most important signs and differentiate between pathological processes.
