About Study Course
Objective
To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in pediatric urology, in accordance with the requirements of the regulation of the specialty of urology, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of surgeon, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.
Learning outcomes
1.• Define the etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnostic methods, progress, treatment methods of the more common illnesses and injuries.
• Know the diagnostic methods, instruments and equipment used in pediatric urology, as well as the practical use of therapeutic methods (surgery) for patients with a surgical profile
• Describing the indications for conservative and surgical treatment of urological diseases in children of different ages
• Draw up an examination and treatment plan for children with acute urological diseases
• Name the peculiarities of patient preparation for operations, emphasizing attention to emergency and urgent operations in pediatric urology, as well as the basic principles of patient treatment in the postoperative period.
1.Can:
• Perform primary dressing of wounds, apply sutures to wounds, learn tetanus prevention
• Provide qualified emergency assistance to children of various ages with injuries and acute illnesses
• Carry out emergency treatment.
1.Detailed theoretical knowledge about the etiology, pathogenesis, symptomatology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis of congenital and acquired, acute and chronic urological diseases in children of different ages, as well as injuries.
• Diagnostic methods, instruments and equipment used in children's urology, practical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations, as well as the practical use of therapeutic methods (surgery) for patients with a urological profile
• Indications for conservative and surgical treatment of urological diseases in children of different ages.
• Draw up an examination and treatment plan for patients with acute illnesses
• Provide qualified emergency assistance to children of various ages with injuries and acute illnesses.
