Objective

To provide theoretical and practical training with the aim of providing independent practitioners in paediatric dentistry with adequate knowledge of paediatric diseases.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Characterize the nature of somatic diseases and development disorders associated with potential pathological findings in the oral cavity, diagnostics, emergency treatment and prevention in children from birth up to the age of 18 years.

Skills

1.Improves learning skills, research skills and ability to apply acquired knowledge in practice;
Will be able to formulate key words;
Will be oriented in textbooks and internet databases;
Gives the necessary skills and abilities in examining the oral cavity of a healthy and sick child;
Will know how to find a form of contact appropriate for the child's age;
Collect anamnesis;
Perform a clinical examination of the oral cavity assessing deviations from the norm;
Assess the patient's condition.

Competence

1.Competence will be assessed after the compilation of results obtained.
Postgraduates will be able to evaluate the need for consulting with a consultant.
