About Study Course
Objective
By completing the course, the resident gains insight into the indications, contraindications and side effects of pharmacological agents used in interventional radiology.
Learning outcomes
1.During the course, the medical resident acquires theoretical knowledge about the possible effects of the most frequently used IR medications on the patient’s health, will be able to define indications and contraindications for medication use, post-treatment follow-up and rehabilitation. Will know about the treatment of circulatory collapse, shock, clinical manifestations of hypersensitivity reactions, basic principles of treatment.
Will have good knowledge of pharmacological agents:
• Contrast agents
• Local anaesthetics
• Sedatives
• Vasoactive agents
• Drugs affecting blood clotting, incl. new oral anticoagulants
• Medicines used to treat diabetes mellitus
• Antihypertensive drugs
• Statins
• Antibiotics
• Antiemetics
1.During the course, practical skills are developed in the use of medications and contrast agents.
1.After completing the course, the medical resident will be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills to modify drug therapy according to the needs of invasive manipulation, will be familiar with the indications, contraindications and side effects of drugs, basic principles of treatment of hypersensitivity reactions.
