Objective

To develop the ability to choose and use appropriate evaluation and assessment instruments in arts therapy, to form comprehension of the assessment criteria of the art therapy's results. To develop knowledge, skills and competencies regarding the basic principles of the arts therapy process, and the factors and interventions that form the creative and therapeutic process.

Prerequisites

Professional activity in arts therapy and its legal basis. Specialization I. Medical rehabilitation and teamwork. Psychiatry and psychopharmacology. Individual counseling and psychodynamics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful course completion students name and characterise the evaluation and assessment instruments in arts therapy; describe the basic principles of setting the assessment criteria for the arts therapy results and the pre-conditions of the arts therapy process; compare the sections of an arts therapy session; name and characterise the performance stages and factors of arts therapy.

Skills

Analyse theoretical cases, choosing the appropriate evaluation and assessment instruments of arts therapy according to the client/patient age and working environment, taking into account possible risks; determine client/patient difficulties, set the criteria and aims for client/patient evaluation by using ICF, ICD and medical technologies; during the learning process students differentiate, analyse and compare the performance stages of arts therapy and the interventions applied in modelled situations; analyse and aggregate the observed factors of arts therapy.

Competence

In the analysis of theoretical cases choose the evaluation and assessment instruments that are appropriate for the situation and the specificity of working environment and set appropriate goals of arts therapy; plan the structure and contents of a session pursuant to the medical technologies of arts therapy.
