Objective

To enable students to acquire theoretical and practical skills in working with specialised literature in accordance with the standards of professions.

Prerequisites

Professional Communication III requires an understanding of the foundations of human functioning, pedagogy, psychology in accordance with the professions of educator, as well as an understanding of the foundations of the particular sport or professional terminology in accordance with the standard in Latvian and the foundations in English or German for the programmes of general educational schools and language knowledge acquired in the institution of higher education in accordance with the foundations of the profession in spoken language.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students shall be familiar with the professional and academic terminology of English and/or German according to their study programme and the professional qualification to be obtained.

Skills

1.Apply English and/or German skills in the development of the Bachelor’s thesis in accordance with the principles of academic writing and scientific communication.

Competence

1.Able to work independently and critically with scientific and professional literature in English and/or German by selecting, analysing and using up-to-date sources of information for the performance of professional and academic tasks.
