About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the study course is to develop students’ scientifically grounded and critical understanding of personality and individual differences as one of the core disciplines of psychology by introducing the major personality theories, models of temperament, personality trait models, models of intelligence and abilities, and the biological, genetic, cognitive, social, and cultural foundations of individual differences, as well as approaches to the study and assessment of personality and individual differences. The course develops students’ ability to analyse, compare, and critically interpret personality theories and empirical research in order to explain individual differences in human behaviour, functioning, and adaptation.

Learning outcomes
1.Explains the subject matter of personality psychology and individual differences psychology, their place within the structure of psychological science, and their significance for understanding human behaviour and functioning.
1.Analyses scientific literature in personality psychology and individual differences psychology by identifying the research aim, theoretical approach, methods, and main findings.
1.Distinguishes, using reasoned arguments, scientifically grounded explanations of personality and individual differences from popular psychological and unscientific interpretations.
