Research Methods in Sport (LSPA_454)
About Study Course
Objective
Provide the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in sports research methodology by raising awareness of evidence-based research and practice and to develop skills in the search, evaluation and processing of sports science information, including the application of statistical concepts to data analysis.
Prerequisites
information literacy, basic concepts of sport science, basic academic writing skills, basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics, ability to search for and critically evaluate scientific information, use digital information resources and process data at a basic level in electronic spreadsheets.
Learning outcomes
1.Name and describe research strategies and designs.
1.Formulate a research aim, question or hypothesis and ground the research in theories and concepts from the field of sport.
1.Analyses scientific literature.
