Objective

Provide knowledge of legal regulation of operational work in Latvia and abroad.

Prerequisites

Criminal Process, Legal Institutions, Operational Activities Law.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students acquire knowledge of regulation of different legal entities of operational work in Latvia and other EU Member States, as well as outside the EU. Able to identify and distinguish between various institutions involved in the provision of appropriate operational work measures and their competence.

Skills

1.Understand the competence of the legal entities of operational work and their obligation to carry out operational work in Latvia and neighbouring countries.

Competence

1.Understand the organisational structure of operational work. Ability to distinguish the legal entities of operational activities according to their functions and various branches of power and division into legal systems in Latvia and neighbouring countries. Able to distinguish between the competence of state authorities in operational work and criminal proceedings.
