About Study Course
Objective
To provide acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to help in emergency situations and provide specialised conservative treatment in trauma patients.
Learning outcomes
1.Able to demonstrate the acquired knowledge by
a) describing a certain type of trauma, its clinical appearance, diagnostic methods and complications;
b) naming and describing the treatment tactics for that trauma;
c) describing certain trauma complications, treatment mistakes;
d) providing an assessment of treatment methods.
1.Resident will be able to:
a) examine a patient with musculoskeletal injury or disease;
b) evaluate the results of radiological examinations;
c) do primary surgical wound closure, be able to close the wound;
d) do the closed fracture and dislocation reduction and immobilise it appropriately;
e) put on a skeletal traction device;
f) recognise different trauma complications;
g) puncture large joints or cavities;
h) remove small benign soft tissue tumours.
1.Will use the knowledge in order to:
a) make precise diagnosis of the pathology;
b) interpret the findings;
c) analyse the treatment of the injury;
d) make a rehabilitation plan;
e) evaluate the results of treatment.
