About Study Course
Objective
To introduce students to the process management in contemporary business environment with different production and operations activities that take place in companies and organisations, and to examine how strategic and tactical decisions are made to create sustainable business development.
Prerequisites
Basic understanding of the principles of microeconomics.
Learning outcomes
1.1. Understands the essence of Lean, its core principles, and its importance in improving the efficiency of company processes.
2. Is able to describe business process analysis methods, including the identification of non-value-adding activities and possibilities for its elimination.
3. Understands the principles of process visualization and is able to explain the importance of process diagrams in process analysis and improvement.
4. Understands the key performance indicators of processes and the principles for determining them, as well as their use in evaluating process results.
5. Understands the principles of root cause analysis and elimination of problems, as well as the principles of process risk analysis.
6. Explains the importance of a culture of continuous improvement, change management, and employee involvement in implementing the Lean approach in a company.
7. Understands the methods for designing, implementing, and maintaining new or improved business processes in an organization.
1.1. Identifies, visualizes, and analyzes a company’s business processes using methods and tools appropriate to the Lean approach.
2. Determines non-value-adding activities in the process and develops proposals for their reduction or elimination.
3. Develops process maps and measures process performance indicators in order to evaluate process efficiency.
4. Analyzes the causes of process problems, assesses risks, and proposes well-grounded solutions for process improvement.
5. Develops scenarios for new or improved processes and performs their comparative analysis according to the company’s needs.
6. Prepares process implementation and improvement plans in accordance with the principles of change management and effective communication.
7. Applies a continuous improvement approach by cooperating with the parties involved and driving the implementation of changes in the organization.
1.1. Is able to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical solutions by analyzing company processes and making well-grounded decisions on their improvement.
2. Is able to independently evaluate the efficiency of company processes, identify problem areas, and develop solutions for process improvement.
3. Is able to plan and manage business process improvement initiatives, including process redesign, standardization, and the evaluation of automation opportunities.
4. Is able to provide well-reasoned justification for the need for improvements, discuss the most appropriate solutions, and facilitate their implementation in the organization.
5. Is able to operate in conditions of change, communicate effectively with the parties involved, and foster the development of a culture of continuous improvement in the company.
