When and where?
May 10: meeting place - Lielupe railway station at 17.00
If you choose to go by train to the Lielupe station, the train leaves Riga at 16:30 (and arrives at 16:54)
Route
- Lielupe station → coast (~1.5 km)
- Along the sea to Ragakāpa (~7-8 km)
- A path along a calm seashore, with sand dunes and pine forests.
- Depending on the pace, the path takes 1.5–2 hours. There will be a break to enjoy the evening, the sea and the snacks you have brought with you. In general, you should plan for at least 3-3.5h.
- Ragakāpa Nature Park
- We will walk along the wooden footbridge and visit the observation tower on the way back to the station.
- At sunset, the observation tower offers a fantastic view of the sea and forest (optional).
What to pack
- Windbreaker with hood (the wind by the sea can be strong even in warm weather)
- Water, snacks
- Shoes with which you can walk on the sand (or barefoot!)
