Do you have a research idea that you want to implement, but you don't know where and how to start? If so, then this practical seminar is for you!

Under the guidance of Prof. Flemming Dela and Assist. Prof. Dace Reihmane, you will be able to develop and polish your research idea for submission to "Student Research and Innovation Grants (SPIG)" scholarship competition.

10:00Experience: SPIG scholarship fellow
10:30Theory: “How to turn a research idea into project proposal? Avoid major pitfalls!”
11:00Practical part I: frame and justify your research idea
13:00Break
14:00Experience: Inese Čakstiņa-Dzērve, SPIG mentor, Leading researcher and assistant prof. at RSU, Fulbright scholarship fellow at Harvard Medical School
14:30Practical part II: choose appropriate methods and draw up a budget for your project proposal
15:30Present, discuss and receive feedback on your idea

Flemming Dela’s research focuses on the influence of physical training on metabolism and the cardiovascular system. Supervisor of more than 100 Bachelor's and Master's students, and ~30 PhD and doctoral students.
