Health care systems are facing several challenges, especially in the time of a pandemic. The lack of resources, such as health workers, but also scarce capacities, such as operating theatres and intensive care unit beds, are crucial in the process of providing high class health care services. These challenges beside others are putting decision makers, politics and management in a tough situation. Prof. Dr. Götz emphasises that economic evaluation and modelling might help support decision making. The professor will elaborate on the current challenges in health care in Latvia and Germany in his lecture.

Dr. Olav Götz is a professor for general business administration at the APOLLON University of Applied Sciences Bremen. In addition to this activity, prof. Dr. Götz advises health care institutions and currently holds the position as a visiting professor at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).

Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes Sabiedrības veselības un sociālās labklājības fakultātes prodekāne Dr. D. Behmane savukārt dalīsies pieredzē Baltijas-Vācijas Augstskolu biroja atbalstītā projekta Ekonomiskā modelēšana un novērtēšana veselības aprūpē īstenošanā.
