The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare is organising the International Summer School Riga 2021 (ISSR 2021), which this year will focus on Modelling and Simulation in Health Care. ISSR 2021 will take place 23–27 August 2021 at 16 Dzirciema iela in Rīga.

ISSR 2021 will be an intensive week of in person and interactive seminars. ISSR 2021 is organised within the framework of international cooperation of the Health Management master's program. It is open to both international and RSU students, as well as academic and research staff from RSU and other universities.

Contents

  • Introduction to Modelling and Simulation in Health Care
  • Steps of conducting a simulation study
  • Data Analysis, verification and validation of simulation models, modelling baseline scenarios and conduction experiments
  • Case study-based group work on a simulation consulting project using MS Ex-cel, “MedModel” and “R”

Important information

  • The summer school will take place in person in the RSU computer lab. A personal computer is required for the online format.
  • Participation fee: 350 EUR.
    • The fee includes the course program and materials.
    • The university will cover the participation fee for RSU students and staff.
  • Special software will be provided and additional information for registered participants will follow.
  • Participants are expected to cover travel and living costs themselves. 
  • Summer school schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 - 17:00
  • The number of participants is limited (up to 30)
NB!!! Only participants with an interoperable COVID-19 vaccination, test or recovery certificate (COVID-19 certificate) will be able to attend the in person classes.
