Objective

The purpose of semester paper development is to strengthen students’ knowledge, skills and competences necessary to independently develop and defend research paper.

Prerequisites

Understanding research, methodology, different research approaches. Basic knowledge of sourcing analysis and quoting. Knowledge in its field of study programme.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students shall be thoroughly familiar with theoretical guidelines, principles, structure and practical working methods of the science sector of their programmes, which are necessary for the implementation of research projects. Thorough knowledge of the history, theories and current problems of the development of the sciences sector, including critical understanding of theories and research methodologies.

Skills

1.Students are able to independently select and implement a topical and innovative research project in the scientific sector. Is able to select and apply appropriate research methods for the professional and innovative implementation of research projects.

Competence

1.According to the specificities of the sector, students are able to independently acquire, select and analyse information and use it to perform research activity. Able to manage complex research projects and take responsibility for decision-making in unpredictable working or training conditions, as well as take responsibility for managing the professional development of persons or groups. Is able to take responsibility for the environmental and societal impact of his professional activities and understands the professional ethics of the sciences sector.
