Objective

The purpose of drafting of a course paper is to strengthen theoretical knowledge in the field of communication sciences, to improve research skills and competences, which are necessary to autonomously draft a high-level empirical research in multimedia communication, photography, journalism or public relations.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students know in depth the theoretical framework, principles, structure and practical work methods of the branch of information and communication science, which are necessary for the implementation of research projects in photography, journalism, multimedia communication or public relations. Know in depth the history of development, the theory and current challenges of the branch of information and communication science, including critical understanding of theory and research methodology.

Skills

Students are able to autonomously select a pressing and innovative topic for their research project in the branch of information and communication science and to implement it. Know how to select and use research methods corresponding to the branch of information and communication sciences to implement research projects in photography, journalism, multimedia communication or public relations in a professional and innovative way.

Competence

In accordance with the peculiarities of the branch of information and communication science, students are able to independently obtain, select and analyse information and use it to do research work. Able to lead complex research projects and assume responsibility for decision-making in unpredictable work and learning conditions, as well as assume responsibility for management of professional development of persons or teams. Able to assume responsibility for the effects of their professional activity on the environment and community, as well as understand professional ethics of the branch of information and communication sciences.
