Video recording of classes and seminars

For academic staff of the Riga Stradiņš university (RSU), it is possible to perform video recordings of lectures and presentations. Links to ready-made video recordings can be stored on the E-studies site as well as on other sites. The service is provided using “Panopto” service.

Service availability

RSU IT Service Center provides equipment for recording video lectures. Records can be made in RSU building or any other location where necessary, e.g. hospital, office, etc.

The recording may be made using  own techniques or provided by the RSU IT Service centre, which may consist of several components as needed:

1. Portable PC
2. Camera. You can use more than one camera at the same time (simulation, laboratory lesson, etc.). Example
3. Camera stand (if required)
4. Microphone (if required)
5. Microphone headset (if required)

IT Service Center can also provide consultations on the options of the Panopto lecture recording system and how to use equipment correctly. See examples here.

It is possible to receive the equipment for a period of up to two calendar weeks, therefore please sign it up by using – help.rsu.lv, or by writing to an e-mail in itrsu[pnkts]lv and make request.

When providing the equipment necessary for recording, the IT Service Centre shall provide training for the correct use of the technique, as well as for the use of the Panopto system. The user has the ability to set up a lecture recording system on his or her private computer for himself.
