On Friday, 6 February, more than 330 graduates of undergraduate, master’s and professional study programmes received their diplomas during the 2026 winter graduation ceremonies at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). Among them were 125 international students – prospective doctors and dentists who will begin their professional careers in healthcare around the world. This day is symbolic on a broader scale as well – 6 February marks the opening of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy, where 34 RSU representatives will participate as athletes, coaches, medical and sports industry professionals.

The winter graduation ceremony for international students of Medicine and Dentistry study programmes took place on 6 February at 11:00, during which diplomas were awarded to 125 graduates – 102 future doctors and 23 dentists. The graduates represent a wide range of countries, with the largest number of diplomas being presented to students from Sweden, Germany, Norway, Finland and Italy, confirming RSU’s international recognition and popularity among international students.

The celebrations continued with a second graduation ceremony at 15:00, where another 213 graduates of undergraduate and master’s study programmes from the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences, as well as RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (RSU LASE) received their diplomas. 

The 2026 winter graduations confirm RSU's role as a research university that prepares highly qualified specialists in the fields of public health, medicine, sports, security, and social welfare.
