Lifelong learning

As the role of artificial intelligence (AI) continues to grow in entrepreneurship, it is becoming increasingly important for modern managers not only to understand the potential of these technologies, but also to use them purposefully and responsibly in strategically important business processes. For this reason, the Lifelong Learning Centre of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has developed a new micro-credential (short format) programme Artificial Intelligence Management. It is designed for managers and professionals willing to understand and apply AI in team management and strategic business development.

The programme is suitable for business development, innovation, and digital transformation managers, as well as project managers, IT and data professionals, and decision-makers in organisations. It provides a structured foundation in the AI application, project management, and regulatory issues, making it accessible to both technically experienced and entry-level professionals.

Artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technological tool. It is a strategic resource. The programme aims to support management professionals in making informed, responsible, and sustainable decisions on the implementation and use of AI in their companies.

Within the programme, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the full lifecycle of AI solutions — from precise problem definition and data preparation to project implementation, maintenance, and long-term development. The learning process combines a strategic perspective with a practical approach, working both with data processing and content producing tools, as well as AI project management and legal regulation issues.

‘We have deliberately designed the programme to be accessible also to professionals without in-depth technical knowledge,’ explains Alksne. ‘What matters most is the ability to understand the AI potential, risks, and opportunities, linking them to a human-friendly approach and the goals of the organisation.’

The programme is led by experienced professionals and practitioners, including Pauls Jansons, AI and Automation Expert, Agate Ambulte, RSU AI Manager for Digital Transformation, Artis Birziņš, Technology Strategy Expert, as well as Olavs Rāciņš, Artūrs Kurbatovs, and Kristaps Cīrulis, who provide a combination of practical, legal, and strategic expertise for the programme.

The programme will run from 5 February to 30 May this year.

About micro-credential programmes

RSU micro-credential programmes are short courses that provide specific knowledge, skills, and competencies aligned with the needs of industry and the labour market. Upon successful completion of a programme, participants receive an official micro-credential that complies with the Latvian and European Qualifications Frameworks (LQF and EQF) and can be used both for further studies and professional development.
