The Career Guidance and Wellbeing Centre is now in its fourth year of providing free psychological support to students. Since its launch in 2021, the demand for support has grown significantly.

The centre employs two psychologists who work with both local and international students. Additionally, it collaborates closely with master’s students from the RSU Health Psychology programme, who provide free psychological support as part of their placements.

Lelde Kozilāne, Head of the Career Guidance and Wellbeing Centre, emphasises:

'It is crucial to offer psychological support to students throughout their studies.

In the autumn semester alone, we provided over 800 free consultations in collaboration with master’s students from the Health Psychology programme, who are completing their placements with us. Based on the average psychologist’s fee in Latvia, we estimate that this has saved students and the university around 36,000 euros—a significant benefit for all involved.'

Zane Gulbe, Lecturer and Director of the Professional Master's Study Programme in Health Psychology, highlights: 'I am delighted with our collaboration with the Career Guidance and Wellbeing Centre and appreciate their ongoing efforts to expand and improve psychological support services. This partnership provides an excellent opportunity for our students to gain hands-on experience in psychological counselling, both in person and remotely. It allows them to develop their skills and competence while also ensuring that RSU students have access to free psychological support.'
