Newly published book on loneliness available online

An open-access book on loneliness and related factors has been published this month. The chapter that was written by SHARE Latvia researchers and their collaborators explores loneliness among people aged 67 and over in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Sweden.

The comparative study also uses data from Iceland that was obtained as part of the EEA bilateral cooperation project between RSU and the University of Iceland. The observed trends identify important gender and age factors and shed light on the varying experiences of loneliness among the elderly in the Baltic-Nordic region.
