During the meeting, RSU presented its performance indicators and development priorities: stable growth in student numbers, an increasing proportion of international students and lecturers, a growing international presence through the RSU branch in Germany, extensive use of simulation technology in studies, and the university’s significant contribution to the Latvian economy.

With around 12,000 people visiting the neighbourhood around the university each day, discussions focused on the development of the RSU campus. RSU outlined its intention to continue centralising its real estate by modernising its main buildings and campuses. The delegation was also presented with plans for the construction of new study and dentistry buildings, as well as the sports centre on Cigoriņu iela, which will establish RSU as an important hub in Pārdaugava in the future.

At the end of the visit, both parties emphasised the importance of their existing cooperation and their commitment to strengthening it, with particular attention to sustainable infrastructure development, advancement of the Knowledge Mile initiative, and RSU’s role as a key centre in the development of Riga’s urban environment.
