RSU Museum to celebrate 25th anniversary with ‘Things. Places. Feelings’ exhibition

25 years ago, on 4 September 2001, the Senate of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) made a decision to establish the RSU Museum, with the aim of preserving the university’s historical heritage. To celebrate this occasion, the RSU History Museum has set up the exhibition ‘Things. Places. Feelings’, which will open on 3 September at 16:00 at the RSU Anatomy Museum.

The exhibition offers an insight into the diverse collection of the RSU Museum, telling the story of life at the university over the years, from its establishment in 1950 as the Rīga Medical Institute, later renamed the Medical Academy of Latvia in 1990, and subsequently known as Rīga Stradiņš University since 2002.

The exhibition is dedicated to the RSU community – students, alumni and staff – who are invited to reflect on their memories and see themselves as a link in the unbroken chain of time and generations.

The exhibition was created by the RSU History Museum staff in collaboration with artist Anna Heinrihsone. The music and sound design for the exhibition was created by composer Kārlis Auzāns, while the artistic and technical solutions implemented by Frostiart Baltic.

The exhibition ‘Things. Places. Feelings’ will be running until March 2027.
