In May, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) joined the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (SCCL), becoming part of a network that promotes business, education, and cooperation between Latvia and Sweden. At the Chamber, RSU is represented by Chancellor Toms Baumanis.

Joining the SCCL provides RSU with additional opportunities to strengthen cooperation with Swedish companies, institutions, and organisations, as well as to promote the university’s international recognition through Latvian-Swedish cooperation. The SCCL brings together around 100 members and is one of the largest foreign chambers of commerce in Latvia, providing opportunities to establish contacts, exchange experiences, and facilitate cooperation within the business environment of Latvia and Sweden.

RSU has long maintained close ties with Sweden in the areas of education and research, as well as alumni cooperation. Sweden is one of the countries from which a significant number of international students come to study at RSU, and participation in the SCCL will enable this cooperation to develop further, particularly in the areas of interdisciplinary projects, innovation, healthcare, and knowledge transfer.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia offers its members opportunities to participate in seminars, business meetings, matchmaking events, and networking activities, and works to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Latvia and Sweden.
