RSU Great Hall
For RSU Employees
Traditional Events

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) celebrated the arrival of the winter solstice with several events for its staff. This year's festive programme started on 15 December, when the University’s hallways were filled with the children of RSU employees who were invited to enjoy a performance by magician Pezolli and witness amazing magic tricks.

Families and employees had the opportunity to capture the festive season in a beautifully decorated photo corner set up in the lobby of the RSU Main Building. This year, RSU also continued its long-standing tradition of staff Christmas messages with 1,500 greeting cards delivered. This tradition allows everyone working at the University to look back on what has been achieved over the past year, and appreciate the steadfast support of colleagues. To top it all off, RSU played Christmas music on the internal radio for three days, with the opportunity to request specific songs.

The public celebrations ended on Thursday, 20 December when colleagues from all structural units gathered in the RSU Great Hall for the Christmas concert by Uldis Marhilevičs and Dita Lūriņa. After enjoying the concert, RSU honoured the winners of the annual photo contest: Aivars Grebežs, Aldis Gertners, Dagne Indāne, Ingre Dižā, Raimonds Sīmanis, Irina Ugorenko, Jevgēnija Petruhina, Normunds Limba, Edīte Sietiņa, Alda Grīnberga and Sintija Auslande. This was followed by refreshments and a Christmas crafting workshop.

The RSU Communications Department thanks everyone for their cooperation this year and joins Rector Aigars Pētersons in wishing everyone ‘a wonderful and heartfelt family Christmas and a new year full of success!’
