Speed friending brings students together at the start of the semester
On Wednesday, 25 February, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department hosted its much-anticipated speed friending event in the Cafeteria at 16 Dzirciema iela.
46 international and local students attended an evening of connection and community building. Held at the beginning of each semester, speed friending helps students meet new people and feel more connected to university life in a welcoming setting.

The evening started with ice-breakers, followed by a speed friending session where students rotated every few minutes to chat with someone new, making it easy to connect with many different people. After the session ended, students exchanged contact details, enjoyed food and drinks, and continued conversations beyond the official programme.
The strong turnout and lively atmosphere demonstrated the value of creating spaces where international and local students can come together, fostering friendships, cultural exchange, and a stronger sense of community within RSU.
The event was organised with the help of the RSU International Student Association (ISA), the Student Union (Studējošo pašpārvalde, SP and the RSU IT and Infrastructure departments.
