Sports 360°: RSU researchers to present recommendations for better sports sector governance in Latvia
How can the sports infrastructure in Latvia be managed more effectively, and how can data be used to plan the development of the sports sector? On 28 October, from 10:00 to 13:30, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) invites municipality representatives, sports organisation managers, and other industry professionals to take part in a free online workshop ‘Sports 360°: Research Results for Better Sports Governance in Latvia’. Researchers from RSU and its partner organisations will present the latest research findings and recommendations for data- and evidence-based governance of the sports sector.
The workshop will focus on two key issues related to the development of sports sector – governance of the sports infrastructure and the socio-economic indicators of the sports sector. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the research recommendations and learn how to use the research findings in planning and decision-making of the development of the sports sector.
The workshop is part of the #IMRSportsLV project under the state research programme Sports, which aims to generate knowledge and practical solutions for more effective, data-driven and sustainable development of the sports industry in Latvia.
In the first part, RSU researchers will present findings from their research on sports infrastructure and recommendations for its governance advancement. The second part will focus on the socio-economic indicators of the sports sector, changes therein and development trends, providing a data-driven insight into the progress of the sector.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
The event will be held online. Participants are invited to register.
Participants will be able to receive a certificate for four academic hours of attendance, which is valid for recertification with the Latvian Sports Federations Council. The certificate is expected to be issued by 20 December.
