Sustainable ideas and an innovation bootcamp in Vienna – RSU students invited to apply for the Green Hexagon programme
Students, graduates, researchers, and staff of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) are invited to particpate in the international pre-incubation programme Green Hexagon, which offers participants the opportunity to develop a sustainable business idea and acquire valuable entrepreneurship skills.

The programme will take place online from February to June. Participants will meet once a week to explore topics such as idea validation, business models, prototyping, marketing, GenAI, financial planning, and pitching skills. At the end of the programme, participants will present their ideas and compete for grants from a total prize fund of EUR 9000.
For the first time, the Green Hexagon programme will also offer the most successful teams the opportunity to take part in a fully funded trip to an innovation bootcamp at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt in Austria’s capital, Vienna. The bootcamp will take place from 18 to 22 May and will include sessions on sales, meetings with mentors and participants from other teams, as well as the opportunity to attend the ViennaUP startup festival.

In addition, a Green Hexagon information session will take place on 21 January, where participants will be able to learn more about the programme and receive answers to key questions.
Ideas for a sustainable future
The goal of the Green Hexagon programme is to foster sustainable ideas. To participate, teams must have a business idea that supports this objective, for example through the use of recyclable materials in product development, environmentally friendly packaging, or solutions that promote Latvia’s economic growth and ensure equality. Sustainable ideas also include solutions for better health and well-being, education-related solutions, innovations in manufacturing, community building and collaboration, and responsible consumption.
For those who are still searching for the right idea, an online ideation afternoon will be organised on 28 January, offering the opportunity to learn idea-generation techniques and meet like-minded participants. One of the first programme sessions will also be dedicated to team formation.
The programme is open to students, graduates, staff, and researchers from the Rīga Stradiņš University, University of Latvia the University of Tartu (Estonia), the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (Czech Republic), Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (Austria). In team applications, at least 50% of team members must represent one of these universities.
