Dr. rer. nat. Baiba Vilne is a recent Tenured Professor of Life Sciences at Rīga Stradiņš University, with over 17 years of experience in applied bioinformatics. Her research focuses on advancing the analysis and integration of multi-modal health and omics data, combining network-based methodologies with artificial intelligence and machine learning. Baiba is also dedicated to developing secure, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable)-compliant computational workflows that promote automation and interoperability across high-performance computing and cloud infrastructures. Alongside her academic role, Dr Vilne is a lead contributor to the development of Latvia’s National Node within ELIXIR, supporting the alignment of national research infrastructure with European standards for life science data management and interoperability.
