Objective

To promote the acquisition of knowledge about the immunopathogenesis and treatment principles of the major neuroimmunological diseases.

Prerequisites

Knowledge in neurology and immunology at the basic course level after the completion of the compulsory program.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

After the completion of the study course, the student is able to do the following:
• to describe current problems of neuroimmunology;
• to name and describe the aetiology, pathogenesis and clinical picture of the most common neuroimmunological diseases;
• to describe, substantiate and interpret the choice of examination methods, analyses and therapy;
• to recognise and apply diagnostic algorithms during neuroimmunological complications in patients with somatic pathology.

Skills

After the completion of the study course, the student will be able:
• to apply skills in examination and care of patients with neuroimmunological disorders at different stages of clinical work;
• to formulate a neuroimmunological diagnosis;
• to compile an examination and treatment plan for neuroloimmunological pathologies, to substantiate the selected immunological analyses;
• to detect and explain the main neuroimmunological symptoms and their pathogenetic aspects;
• to follow the latest international developments in the field of neuroimmunology.

Competence

After the completion of the study course, the student is able:
• to recognise the most common neuroimmunological diseases;
• to choose diagnostic methods, rational treatment and care tactics for neuroimmunological diseases.
