Objective

Manage, coordinate and implement human-centred care, participate in treatment for patients at different age stages, ensure the assessment of a patient’s overall health status and autonomously take decisions based on evidence-based knowledge of the conduct, observation and prevention of therapeutic interventions, evaluate indications, contraindications and side effects of action, provide quality care. Educate patients and their family or legal representatives on health issues, taking into account individual needs and the current situation. Educate nurses, other members of the health and social care team, members of the public.

Prerequisites

Nursing theories and philosophy of care, evaluation and diagnosis of patient health status, provision and management of acute and chronic disease patient care, general and developmental psychology, pedagogy, education, counselling and health promotion of members of the public.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Student knows about the principles of the organisation of primary health care and basic tasks of extended competence nurse, diagnosis, evaluation of health condition, prescription of medicines and medical devices, disease prevention, care issues, taking into account the basic principles of health preservation, promotion.

Skills

1.Implement evidence-based and critical thinking approach-based healthcare, create and ensure therapeutic communication with patients/clients and their affiliates, be able to autonomously ensure the assessment of a patient’s overall state of health taking into account the biopsychosocial model, autonomously take a decision to perform therapeutic interventions, implement preventive measures, be able to prescribe and prescribe medications and medical devices in the specific clinical situation, comply with regulatory enactments.

1.Be able to carry out an assessment of the health status of an individual, group, community, communicate in a multicultural environment in accordance with the principles of intercultural communication; establish, implement and manage measures to promote public health, prevent and strengthen health literacy, based on research evidence; critically and reflectively evaluate their professional activities in the light of evidence-based principles, identify and target the measures needed to improve them, demonstrating initiative and preparedness to learn
