About Study Course
Objective
To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in laboratory diagnostics according to the requirements of the Regulation of Haematology specialty in order to prepare a physician for certification in the haematology specialty.
Learning outcomes
1.Upon finishing the study course a resident will have knowledge of:
• principles for organisation of a modern medical laboratory;
• principles for doing clinical blood tests;
• principles for doing clinical chemistry laboratory tests;
• principles for doing coagulation tests.
1.Upon finishing the study course a resident will be able to:
• assess informative value of the laboratory diagnostic tests;
• differentiate composition of peripheral blood cells, use the leukocyte count formula;
• determine morphological changes in blood cells;
• assess clinical chemistry test rates;
• assess thromboelastogram;
• assess blood clotting system rates.
1.To participate in the daily laboratory operation;
To acquaint oneself with the operation principles of the laboratory equipment;
To assess leukocytar formulas of peripheral blood tests in a microscope;
To assess results of blood clotting tests in patients;
To assess results of thromboelastography;
To participate in internal and external control activities of laboratory testing.
