About Study Course
Objective
Acquiring the knowledge and skills of the odontogenic and nonodontogenic inflammatory processes.
Learning outcomes
1.Knows anatomy:
• structure of the facial skeleton;
• structure of the orbits, nasal cavity, Highmore's cavity, oral cavity; topographical anatomy;
• mimic and biting muscles;
• I - XII cranial nerves (especially n. trigeminus, n. facialis);
• topographical anatomy of salivary glands;
• topographical anatomy of the head and neck branches.
1.Anesthesia (must be able to make the infiltration anesthesia, anesthesia – i/o, tuberal, palatinal, c. incisivus, mandibular (in many forms); the technique of anaesthesia at trismus);
• drainage of the purulent foci (incision with e/o or i/o access depending on the process of inflammation);
• purulent drainage from inside.
1.Be able to use knowledge and perform diagnosis and treatment for osteomyelitis, lymphadenitis, and other types of odontogenic and nonodontogenic inflammation.
