About Study Course
Objective
To be able to – to investigate any child, to make a diagnosis, to know the pathology treatment principles, to learn the skills of the most common operations.
Learning outcomes
1.The resident will be able to:
• on the basis of anamnesis data, the results of the examination, establish a pathology diagnosis for children of different ages;
• assess the general and local condition of the pediatric patient in order to justify the chosen type of analgesia, manipulation, describe the postoperative period, drug treatment and the course of rehabilitation;
• explain, describe to the child's parents the etiology of the pathology, the principles of treatment, the course of rehabilitation (the need for cooperation with other specialists);
• evaluate the data of histological (cytological) examination, X-ray laboratory, etc.;
• to justify the chosen method of surgical treatment for each specific patient.
1.The student will be able to:
• collect medical history, investigate child of any age, analyze laboratory data, dental X-ray, cone beam computed tomography findings, electromagnetic resonance results;
• develop a treatment plan;
• choose according to age and pathology of local analgesia method,is able to perform anesthesia;
• choose an adequate premedication, sedation or anesthesia, to justify and explain the need for parents;
• to perform outpatient surgery in pediatric patients;
• assign pharmacological treatment;
• to perform post-operative care;
• to collaborate with anesthetists, orthodontics and other professionals.

• Follow the "Dental, oral and maxillo-facial diseases and injuries, diagnosis and treatment technology".
• Be familiar with the specificities of child's mouth, face and jaw area (the anatomical, physiological and immunological).
• Be familiar with the inflammatory process of benign lesions, cysts, teething problems, congenital anomalies, their etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment principles.
• Must be able to provide emergency and planned assistance for children with soft tissue and jaw bone traumatic damage.
• Be familiar with the principles of diagnosis and treatment for children with malignancies.
Graduates must have learned the skills and competences, including scientific, research work, analytical planning, communication, presentation skills, work in a group, to be able to communicate with patients, their family and their relatives, as well as with persons who are engage in patient care.
Be able to use modern information technology.
