Objective

Ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in diagnosing and treating of neurological diseases and syndromes.
Ensure and promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills in examination of neurological condition in different age groups, in diagnosis and treatment principles of neurological diseases and disorders of the nervous system.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students demonstrate advanced and increased knowledge and understanding of medicine in general, but in the specialty of neurology, they comply with the requirements of the relevant specialty and are at the forefront of the scientific and professional field, providing a basis for creative thinking in clinical practice and, to some extent, in research, as well as the ability to work in interdisciplinary interfaces.

Skills

1.Students independently apply medical problem-solving skills to perform professional functions of a highly qualified specialist in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of diseases, skilfully perform practical manipulations, and are able to function in a healthcare organisation as well as in education and research.

Competence

1.Independent plan and organise their own professional development as a medical specialist. Independently formulate and critically analyse complex clinical neurological problems, critically evaluate research in the field of neurological science; perform the necessary additional analysis in support of decisions; demonstrate understanding and ethical responsibility for the outcome of the neurologist's professional activity and the potential impact of clinical or scientific research on patients and society.
