About Study Course
Objective
To ensure acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in head and neck radiology according to the requirements of the radiology speciality regulations to prepare doctors for certification in radiologist’s speciality according to regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.
Learning outcomes
1.• To formulate and briefly describe the normal anatomy and congenital anatomical variants of the bones and soft tissues of the head and neck.
• To recognise, formulate and sequentially arrange the most common pathologies of the soft tissues of the head and neck and their radiological diagnosis.
1.• To recognise, describe and evaluate sinus radiographs and their descriptions.
• To demonstrate, explain and apply the basic principles of US examination of the soft tissues of the neck (including thyroid, parathyroid, salivary glands, cervical lymph nodes).
• To interpret, demonstrate and use head and neck soft tissue CT scan protocols and descriptions.
• To interpret, demonstrate and use head and neck soft tissue MRI protocols and descriptions.
1.• To evaluate, substantiate and justify sinus radiographs and their descriptions.
• To plan, interpret and compare US examinations of the soft tissues of the neck (including thyroid, parathyroid, salivary glands, cervical lymph nodes) and their descriptions.
• To substantiate, compare and evaluate head and neck soft tissue CT scan protocols and their descriptions.
• To substantiate, compare and evaluate head and neck soft tissue MRI protocols and descriptions under the guidance of a teaching physician.
