About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the study course is to develop students’ knowledge and pedagogical skills regarding the methodological application of different types of exercise during the sports and health training class, contributing to the development of students’ mobility skills, physical fitness and understanding of healthy lifestyles. As part of the study course, students acquire the skills to demonstrate, analyse and combine exercises, plan and organise exercise activities according to the characteristics of the student age stage, as well as to use pedagogical methods and terminology in Latvian. Interdisciplinary understanding of movement development, safety principles, dispensing of physical loads and involvement of students in active and healthy lifestyles is promoted in the study process.
Prerequisites
Completion of the study course requires basic knowledge in human anatomy, movement physiology and physical activity methodology.Knowledgeof basic knowledge of the construction of the human motion-support apparatus and the functioning of the muscles;understanding the role of physical activity in promoting health;basic knowledge of physical exercise with and without inventory safety and organization principles.Abilityto demonstrate basic physical exercises with and without equipment;ability to observe and characterise movement performance during physical activity;ability to use sports terminology to describe movements.Ability of competenceto use basic knowledge in organising physical activities;ability to cooperate in the physical activity process and to adhere to safety principles.
Learning outcomes
1.After completing the study course, the student describes different types of exercise and their basic methodological principles during the sports and health hour.
1.The student is able to demonstrate a variety of exercises and variations thereof with and without an object.
1.A student shall organise and manage gymnastic activities in simulations in the work environment during a sports and health class or part thereof, observing pedagogical and safety principles.
