Objective

To facilitate the acquisition of theoretical knowledge about chemical and physiological processes in the human body in relation to its functions. To improve the understanding of modern laboratory diagnostic possibilities and their interpretation.

Prerequisites

Knowledge in chemistry and human anatomy according to the programm requirements.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students will acquire knowledge and understanding of biochemical and physiological processes taking place in different human organ systems and the various tests characterising this process to be applied in laboratory diagnostics. Will know the intervals and clinical relevance of the different laboratory indicators in the rapporteurs. Will learn the medical terminology that characterizes processes in the human body.

Skills

1.Will be able to assess the relevance of the data obtained for the necessary analysis, will be able to independently develop a laboratory examination data analysis plan in biomedical studies, draw conclusions based on the resulting calculations. Will be able to interpret the examinations in laboratories and integrate them into the design of the studies, understanding the nature of the examinations. In line with changes in investigations, it will be possible to explain the significance, possible causes and potential consequences of these changes.

Competence

1.Will be able to cooperate with professionals in the medical field, understanding the terminology used and the situations described in the research tasks, propose ideas on the relationship of the research processes, recommend further and in-depth research directions.
