The Statistics Unit of RSU Faculty of Medicine was created in 2013 with the aim to promote scientific activities of RSU students and academic staff, as well as to provide medical statistical data processing related services to legal persons. Promotion of scientific activity is implemented by offering students consultations on medical research methodology, data input, use of data processing programs (IBM SPSS, STATA, R), data statistical processing methods, analysis, interpretation of results and graphical display.

Do you have to pay for consultations provided by the Statistics Unit?

No, consultations for RSU students are free of charge.

Can each student receive only one consultation?

If necessary students may apply for repeated consultations. The number of consultations per student is unlimited.

How can you register for consultations?

You can register for a consultation via the Student portal or  E-learning environment by filling out the application form.

How do you receive confirmation of a consultation?

Within one day a confirmation with consultation, date, time, name of the consultant, as well as a suggestion for a different consultation time will be sent to the student’s RSU email.

What should you do if you do not receive a message within a day or in case if there are other problems in the application process?

Who can apply for consultations?

Any student of RSU undergraduate studies, Master’s study programmes or residency.

Where and when do consultations take place?

Consultations take place at 23 Kapseļu iela, room 34 every weekday from 9.00 to 17.00.

The aim of the project: create a united network of European researchers (ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) to address research issues on unknown etiology, lack of diagnostic biomarkers and insufficient treatment opportunities that create negative social economic impact on economy.

Analysis of risk factors for cases of tuberculosis in Latvia

The aim of the project: find out the impact of risk factors for tuberculosis in Latvia, as well as analyze the risk conditions, which have a direct impact on the disease, and develop practical recommendations for reduction of prevalence of tuberculosis.

Preparation of a SF-36v2 health-related quality of life measurement instrument SF-36v2 for Latvian population standard setting

The aim of the project: collect data on the population's health and self-esteem, and self-assessed state of health and calculate the standardized population health status measurement scale that will be used as standard for comparison in Latvia with certain groups of people or data of other countries.
