About the lecturer
Mariano Sanz is a professor and chair of Department of Periodontology at the University Complutense of Madrid (Spain) and a professor at the Faculty of Odontology, University of Oslo (Norway).
He graduated medicine studies at the University Complutense of Madrid in 1981, received a degree in stomatology in 1983 and qualified as a Doctor of Medicine in 1985. He received his specialty in Periodontology from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1987. He has received honorary doctorates from the University of San Sebastian in Santiago (Chile), the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), the University of Coimbra (Portugal), the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Medical University of Warsaw (Poland) and the University of Athens (Greece).
He has published 500 articles in scientific journals, written 50 book chapters and has participated as a guest lecturer at more than 300 scientific events in the last five years.
