RSU to host the 6th Global Conference on Parliamentary Studies
On 15–16 July 2027, the Faculty of Social Sciences at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU SZF) will host the 6th Global Conference on Parliamentary Studies in Riga, organised in cooperation with the International Journal of Parliamentary Studies (Brill) and Széchenyi István University. The conference will bring together approximately 100 researchers, academics and parliamentary studies experts from around the world.
The conference theme, Parliaments and Democratic Resilience, will explore the role of parliaments in strengthening democratic resilience, as well as the challenges facing democratic institutions today.
Over two days, the international parliamentary studies community will meet in Riga to present and discuss current research, exchange experiences and explore issues shaping the future of parliaments and democratic governance.
The main conference programme will take place at RSU, with selected activities planned at the Parliament of Latvia (Saeima). This will provide an opportunity to connect academic research with parliamentary practice.
Further information about the programme, participation and submissions will be announced in the coming months.
